What are the standard height and widths available for Bedroom Doors?

The most common internal door size is 2040 mm high by 820 mm wide. However, at Doors Plus, we offer heights of both 2040 mm and 2340 mm, as well as widths of 870, 820, 770, 680, 620 & 520 mm across many of our internal bedroom door ranges.

What are some ways you can maintain privacy with bedroom doors?

The level of privacy in your bedroom comes down to what you can see and what you can hear through your doors, as well as your choice of hardware. In terms of noise transference, it’s best to choose solid doors or doors with a thicker skin for superior insulation. Our Vogue doors, with an extra thick MDF skin, offer excellent sound deadening qualities. Doors with solid panels give you more privacy than glazed doors, or with translucent glass you can preserve your privacy without blocking out the light. We also offer a range of handle options, including passage handles and privacy handles. For more privacy in a bedroom, we suggest you install privacy handles, which have a turn snib or latch that will lock the handle from inside the room – no key required.

What materials are bedroom doors available in?

Your bedroom is your personal space, so you should consider the look and style you want to achieve when choosing the right material for your bedroom door. Solid timber features a natural timber grain and is suitable for painting or staining. If staining, keep in mind that timber is a natural product and grain variations are a feature of timber doors. Doors with an MDF skin, such as Vogue and Kingston ranges, feature a smooth finish which is suitable for a painting in the colour of your choice. We also offer a fully finished melamine skin on our Nova range, which is our most economical fully finished product.
